Our primary brand colours are yellow and black. We identify with nature and deeply care for our environment.
Africa is rich in all the shades and tones of yellow and black – honey bees, sunflowers, stars against the night sky, Monomotapa gold, moody-dark river shale, effervescent sunlight, and purple black African storm clouds streaked with fluorescent lightning.
We recently adopted an extra colour to our brand palette – sapphire blue. Sapphires symbolize nobility, sincerity, truth, faithfulness, and are often associated with wisdom, loyalty, and peace.
The Fleur du Soleil brand reverences the enduring power of nature and above all champions truth and peace for all.
Location, Location, Location!
This clichéd expression remains critical in choosing the perfect spot for your vacation.
Whether you’re planning a quick getaway or an extended holiday, you want to be at the centre of the action while enjoying peace and serenity.
Be it the legendary wine experiences, breathtaking views, or thrilling adventures, Fleur du Soleil is your ideal home base. Enjoy the comfort of a centrally-located stay with all the amenities you need to explore the Western Cape:
With a surprising diversity of shops, boutiques, and art galleries for such a small village, it’s little wonder that Franschhoek is a modern traveller’s paradise.
Artisanal chocolates, handmade furniture, antiques, exquisite decor and interiors, designer jewelry, crafts of all kinds – our town has it all.
The Huguenots first settled in Franschhoek over 300 years ago, bringing with them their traditions, knowledge, and flair for winemaking and viticulture. For wine enthusiasts, Franschhoek is home to some of the best wineries in the country, with many offering tastings, tours, and paired tastings with foods as diverse as fudge, popcorn, chocolate, or cheese.
Franschhoek was just recently voted one of American Express Travel’s 2025 Trending Destinations, a list of the latest must-visit places, selected based on global American Express® Card Member travel bookings and expertise from Amex Travel’s global network of Travel Consultants, particularly with Millennial and Gen Z1 travelers in mind.
Franschhoek has an informative website we highly recommend that you visit:
Besides Franschhoek being one of the safest places in South Africa, at Fleur du Soleil, we have state of the art security systems, including 16 property security cameras that are permanently monitored 24/7, perimeter beams, 24/7 patrols, and instant armed response.
This includes street cameras and armed guards.
As one of TIME Magazine’s Top 50 Places in the World to Visit, our town is encircled by mountains, sweeping vineyards, and fruit orchards. The 24/7 street security initiative taken by local businesses and residents is watertight while the one and only road to enter and exit the town makes it very unattractive to criminals.
The various security factors make Franschhoek especially appealing compared to many other towns in the country with dramatically high crime rates, barbed wire fences, and towering security walls.
We offer you complete peace of mind when it comes to our booking process. Featuring 3D Secure technology, an extra layer of authentication to online credit and debit card transactions, we take every measure to protect card owners from unauthorised online transactions.
Within 15 minutes of making a booking, you will receive a personal letter via email from our group CEO, thanking you for choosing Fleur du Soleil.
From online research we gather facts pertaining to your individual tastes, preferences, and lifestyle.
Your stay is then tailored around this information, our staff united as a team to make every request you have – small or large – a reality.
Awarded Best of the Best Travellers Award by Tripadvisor is testimony to the commitment and enthusiasm our staff feel towards your care. We always strive to give excellent S.E.R.V.I.C.E. (Smile, Empathise, Respect, Value, Inform, Care, Engage) – these core factors are the foundation of true hospitality.
Our team loves what they do and who they do it for. Every interaction maintains our harmonious atmosphere where you will relish in a seamless blend of comfort, elegance, and convenience.
Beyond the most breathtaking of settings, beyond the most indulgent of amenities, and beyond the most opulent of interiors, when it comes to selecting a hotel or guesthouse the guest experience is hollow, daresay pedestrian, without real and genuine care at the heart of its service offering.
Within our walls, attention to detail is a habit, not merely to-do tasks.
True attention to detail can not be found in a manual.
Our hiring practices, staff training, and team working conditions remain ever elevated so that you feel valued, understood, and always cared for.
Our philosophy is to immerse every guest in a rich tapestry of local culture. From our vast stock of local wines, beers, and exotic fruit juices to the smallest detail in our décor, every aspect reflects the vibrant essence of the community.
It’s through all the invisible details we transcend the ordinary.

Unlocking the potential of recycled and natural materials, local artisans craft meaningful, eco-friendly pieces that not only enrich your stay but also our world.
Our one-of-a-kind creations showcase the magic of recycled and natural materials.
We are an avid supporter of Upcycling Art in South Africa.
All our furniture and artwork originated from upcycled art. This makes us unique in the luxury, five-star environment where very few can boast that all their luxury furniture, furnishings, and décor originated from recycled material, driftwood, scrap metal, or automative parts.
At Fleur du Soleil Luxury Guesthouse, we are deeply committed to supporting local talent and the environment. Our philosophy of “support local” is evident in every corner of our guesthouse. From furniture to furnishings and artwork, each piece is locally handcrafted from recycled materials, surrounding our guests with a truly unique cultural experience.
This commitment became even more pronounced during the pandemic lockdown period, providing local artisans and artists not only with an income source but also a creative distraction.
Talented local artist Mambakwedza Mutasa (Mamba) is renowned as one of the artists behind our iconic artwork, the Lion of Africa.
This collaborative piece, created with the gifted Gerhard van der Westhuizen, is a breathtaking masterpiece by local artists. It stands proudly at our entrance, symbolizing the essence of our guest house and the spirit of Africa itself.
Mambakwedza Mutasa and his brother Chenjerai are Zimbabwean artists who bring to life the junk we toss out. Using old car parts, wire, driftwood, metal and stone – mostly claimed from the scrapyards – the brothers build beautiful and imaginative sculptures.
Many first-time visitors to South Africa are often taken aback by the sight of the sprawling shanty towns, also known as squatter camps.
These communities, located in or near major cities like Cape Town and Johannesburg, are characterized by makeshift shelters crafted from readily available materials such as corrugated tin sheets.
However, what truly leaves visitors in awe is the incredible creativity that thrives within these communities. We at Fleur du Soleil do our bit by supporting not only local artists, artisans, and craftsmen but also local farmers and farm stalls. By selecting our produce daily, we support local farmers and promote sustainable farming practices.
In terms of community support, our service providers, suppliers, and vendors are local, operating from the Valley. We also donate and make contributions to local not for-profit organizations such as the Hope Through Action Foundation and SCORE’s Franschhoek Valley Community Sport Centre, the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy as well as local schools.
Operating in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner is not only our daily duty, but a pleasure.
We also respect that you, our guest, values ecotourism.
Just as our emblem the sunflower symbolizes life and positivity, our operations too must support our planet.
To us, eco-sustainability is more than just a concept—it’s our promise. With our zero-plastic promise and the following eco-friendly practices we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment.
• Grey & brown water re-circulation
• Clean-energy back-up systems for electricity
• Biodegradable amenities & systems
• Low-energy LED lighting & appliances
• Multi-national sockets & USB/USB-C ports
Using no plastics, all of our luxury bathroom amenities, detergents, and cleaning materials are eco-sustainable including the containers that are biodegradable.
We were recently awarded Booking.com’s Travel Sustainable Badge, a great honour indeed. Our philosophy is quite simple – we all deserve a better tomorrow.
