As per annually-published crime statistics, our town is one of the safest in South Africa with its twenty-four seven Street Security Initiative and twenty-four hour armed patrols. A mere hour from Cape Town and surrounded by mountains, Franschhoek is as much a fortress as it is a fairytale.
As one of TripAdvisor’s top 1% of All Accommodation Establishments in the World, ranked number 18 in the world, no 4 in Africa in the Guesthouses Category and the number one TripAdvisor accommodation establishment in the Franschhoek Valley, and also one of American Express Tours’ Top Trendiest Destinations 2025, we believe that the proof is in the pudding.
Posted on Tripadvisor Steve BVerified Back again: superb hospitality and great location! This was our second trip to Fleur du Soleil from Australia. It’s now our favourite place to stay in Franschhoek after trying a number of other places in recent years. It’s a truly boutique hotel - each room (we’ve experienced three different ones so far) is unique but luxurious. Stanley and his team are caring and helpful and the breakfasts are superb. We love the location too. The Wine Tram or an Uber can get you to many good wineries and it’s an easy walk to the restaurants/bars/pubs/brewery nearby. We’ll be back.Posted on Tripadvisor Vacation14019270333Verified All round excellent Our experience at Fleur Du Soleil guesthouse was fantastic. It has friendly and excellent staff, the facilities are great and they went the "extra mile" to make our stay memorable.Posted on Tripadvisor ACFitzroyVerified Beautiful boutique accommodation This guesthouse is an excellent choice for a stay in Franschhoek. We spent two nights there, upgraded to the largest suite, and revelled in the space, the attention given to us by all the staff and Victoria - the owner - and amazing breakfasts. The level of attention in the decor, fittings and presentation is exceptional, clearly a labour of love by the owners, whose aim is to make the guesthouse a home from home. Without a car, we were happy to safely walk the neighbourhood and main street day or night. It is a few minutes walk to the main street where there is an abundance of eating places and retail therapy, including a plethora of art galleries. We wold be happy to recommend this guesthouse to anyone.Posted on Tripadvisor Michael HVerified Amazing Franschhoek What we loved most about Le Fleur de Soleil was the wonderful combination of a beautiful property, spacious accommodation and truly exceptional hospitality. Our suite was extremely comfortable and generously sized, with a private balcony and magnificent mountain views that made it a lovely place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Franschhoek. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The selection was extensive, beautifully presented and of excellent quality, making each morning something to look forward to. Above all, it was the people who made our stay so memorable. Victoria is an exceptional host whose warmth, attention to detail and thoughtful recommendations made us feel genuinely looked after throughout our visit. Wendy, Patricia and the entire team were equally warm, attentive and welcoming. Franschhoek captured our hearts, and Le Fleur de Soleil played a very special part in that experience. We arrived as guests but left feeling we had discovered somewhere we would genuinely love to return to.Posted on Tripadvisor MattBattleVerified Attention to detail Outstanding attention to detail. The staff catered to our every need with a pleasant and authentic smile. Excellent bnb option.Posted on Tripadvisor Anja SVerified Very warm Welcome Great and Full of warm welcomePosted on Tripadvisor Diana LVerified Best stay in Frranschoek Best stay ever! The guesthouse is beautifully designed and has everything. The staff are very nice and welcoming. The location is awesome - close to the center of Frranschoek yet very quiet in the evening. We really enjoyed our stay!Posted on Tripadvisor Mps5955Verified Great stay in the Winelands My wife and I spent three nights at Fleur Du Soleil recently. We were looking for a small place that offered huge service! I think we struck it rich at this location. The rooms are very spacious and kept meticulously well. The staff is excellent and the manager was great too. Our breakfasts each morning were excellent and we were never rushed. This place even did our laundry and didn’t charge an arm and a leg like most hotels. They have a lot of great connections and suggestions in and around Franschoek . They also have an arrangement for local transportation, like a semi private UBER driver and the fees for this are reasonable and simply added to your room. Very nice and friendly.Posted on Tripadvisor Tracey BVerified Luxury boutique A beautiful boutique home with 5 or 6 seperate suites all with own ensuite. We were a group of friends and had the place to ourselves! All decorated differently, fresh cooked breakfasts & beautiful finishes. Wish it hsd been warmer to enjoy the pool! Safe & quiet areaPosted on Tripadvisor bdeladVerified EXCEPTIONAL Our stay at Fleur Du Soleil Luxury Guesthouse was simply exceptional. The attention to detail in every aspect of the experience was outstanding, and it is clear that genuine care goes into making each guest feel special. A heartfelt thank you to Victoria for the wonderful birthday surprises and thoughtful treats that made it truly memorable. These personal touches turned an already beautiful stay into something unforgettable. We really appreciate the flexibility of helping us change our reservation with no fee since we couldn't arrive on the original date. The rooms in the guesthouse are amazing and equipped with anything you need. The breakfast is the best one we had in any guesthouse in South Africa. Without a doubt, the best guesthouse in Franschhoek. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning.

Perfect place in Franschhoek!Posted on Google MTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. There are places we enjoy, places we remember, and then there are those rare places that make us genuinely reluctant to leave. Le Fleur du Soleil was exactly that. From the moment we arrived, everything felt personal, warm and effortless. The property is beautiful, intimate and full of character. Our spacious suite was wonderfully comfortable, with a private balcony and magnificent mountain views that reminded us each morning just how special Franschhoek really is. Breakfast deserves its own mention. It was exceptional and incredibly extensive, beautifully presented with an impressive selection and wonderful attention to quality. It was far beyond what we expected from an intimate property and became one of the highlights of each morning. But what truly elevates Le Fleur du Soleil is its people. A very special mention must go to our gorgeous host, Victoria. She has an extraordinary gift for hospitality. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and her recommendations, attention to detail and genuine warmth transformed a wonderful stay into something truly memorable. She seemed to anticipate what we might enjoy before we even had to ask even going our travels beyond this little slice of heaven on earth. Equally deserving of recognition is the wonderful team who looked after us, particularly Wendy and Patricia - and of course a team of ladies supporting them whose names are too many .Their warmth, kindness and attention made us feel less like hotel guests and more like welcomed friends. This is hospitality delivered from the heart. We travel extensively and work within hospitality ourselves, so we particularly appreciate when a property understands that genuine luxury is not simply beautiful surroundings, spacious accommodation or an excellent breakfast — it is ultimately about how people make you feel. Le Fleur du Soleil understands this perfectly. Franschhoek has completely captured our hearts, and Le Fleur du Soleil has been a significant part of that experience. We arrived as guests and leave feeling that we have discovered somewhere very special. Without hesitation, we would return and cannot recommend Le Fleur du Soleil highly enough. Victoria, Wendy, Patricia and the entire team — thank you for making our time in Franschhoek unforgettable. An easy five stars. If Google allowed six, we would happily give them.Posted on Google Matt BattleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Service was top-notch and exceptionally friendly from the moment we stepped in, the room was spacious and beautifully adorned, and the breakfast the next morning may have been the best hotel breakfast of my life. An Absolute Gem in Franschhoek – 5/5 Stars! My wife and I recently stayed at Fleur Du Soleil Luxury Guesthouse, and to say we were impressed would be an understatement. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found somewhere truly special. The property itself is breathtaking and beautifully maintained. Our room was absolutely immaculate, incredibly clean, and thoughtfully designed with top-tier, luxurious appointments that made it feel like a private sanctuary. What really sets Fleur Du Soleil apart, however, is the people. The staff were nothing short of amazing—warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our stay perfect. To top it all off, the food was spectacular, offering a wonderful culinary experience right at the guesthouse. If you are planning a visit to Franschhoek, do yourself a favour and book a stay here. We cannot recommend this luxury guesthouse highly enough and are already dreaming of our next visit!Posted on Google Diana LiuTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our room was spacious and well decorated. The massage service was also good. All the staff were helpful in what to do, where to eat, etc especially Stanley. Communications prior to arrival and wine tasting itinerary arranged for the day of departure was excellent. Location was good and we felt safe walking to the main street which was 10min away. Breakfast was also amazing especially when it was serve in our room one morning. ☹nonePosted on Booking Charlotte10Verified Excellent location to explore Franschhoek, a wonderful team of people to stay with. Truly excellent service and deliciou ☺Excellent location to walk and explore Franschhoek, we felt thoroughly spoilt and looked after throughout our stay. We were spoiled with delicious breakfast, lovely local coffee and preserves. The team were so thoughtful and thorough, remembering our (delicious) breakfast choices each day and checking to make sure we were happy with things throughout our stay. We were supported in making travel arrangements to the airport, advice on things to do and places to eat/drink/explore. The room was clean and thoughtfully put together, and the team kindly let us stay for a late checkout as we had a late flight home.Posted on Booking Claudia9.0Verified Truly outstanding ☺Exceptional service, Stanley and his team were lovely attentive hosts. We were greated with a glas of bubbly and received an upgrade. The highlight was a wonderful breakfast served in the room. ☹Everything was perfect.Posted on Booking Brian10Verified Stunning boutique hotel, with the friendliest staff, close to everything ☺Luxurious and big room, friendliest staff, great location and delicious breakfastPosted on Booking Michael10Verified Three nights in the Winelands was memorable and we chose a great place to stay. Would happily return ☺This place, like many of the small boutique hotels/inns in Franschoek is in a good location, off the Main Street but close enough that you can walk or ride easily. They also have an arrangement with a local gentleman that will transport you, like a private UBER driver, and they can just add his fares to your room tab. Very helpful service. The breakfast is 5 star, and you can spend a long time lounging having breakfast if you like. They have a rather extensive menu for a small place, which was nice. Food was very good and hot dishes came out hot. The staff is very friendly and helpful and we even enjoyed our conversations with the manager and the owner. The room was large and always clean. We were on a long trip and they even did our laundry. Love this! ☹The dining area inside is small and we were there in winter so outside dining was not possible so it can be a bit cramped. We enjoyed meeting and talking with others and the staff so not a big deal for us. I guess I would say that I did not like that we had to leave because they made us feel perfectly welcome and at home.
Each with a signature interior design exuding the essence of far-off places like Monmatre, St Barths, and Kyoto, our fully-serviced suites are veritable destinations rather than mere bedrooms.

Our signature suite in honour of Chris Corlett and his mother, Tina Botha, who founded Fleur du Soleil in 2015 when she decided to pack up her home in Cape Town, bringing along a painting of sunflowers and moved to Franschhoek. It was where she found her peaceful serenity, now known as Fleur du Soleil, which we are sharing with you.
The original painting “Sunflowers of Hope” was completed by Tina’s late son Chris Corlett in 1999, before he passed away from acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the age of 17. Chris underwent the first unrelated allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant on the African continent. It was Chris Corlett’s wish that the South African Bone Marrow Registry develop and grow, so that future leukemia sufferers may have the opportunity to live a healthy life.
His fortitude and willingness awakened a flood of public support, which resulted in the birth of The Sunflower Fund, an NPO setup to increase the Registry, to help save the lives of patients diagnosed with life threatening blood disorders. The Sunflower Fund later merged with DKMS, an international nonprofit organisation dedicated to the fight against blood cancer and blood disorders.
Simple, bold and strong, the sunflower is a universal symbol, used by many organizations around the world, always as a symbol of light and strength and hope.
Our wish is for you to be inspired by the symbolism of our name and logo as you relax and drink in the beauty of the area and the tranquility of Fleur du Soleil – the Flower of the Sun

Our doors are always open to you, where everything you touch, taste, feel, and see is an immersion into South Africa’s vibrant, eclectic culture.
Wamkelekile akhaya – welcome. We’re your home-away-from-home at the very tip of Africa.
